Levensverhaal
Kelly is geboren in Elizabethtown en is de oudste dochter van voormalig model en schrijfster Ann Edwards. Ze begon haar carriere in 1987, maar werd pas echt bekend toen ze de rol van Megan Mancini aannam in de hitserie Melrose Place in de jaren 90. In de loop van de jaren had ze verschillende rollen in films en gastrollen in series.
Op 30 Juni 2001 trouwde ze met Carlos Tarajano een zakenman geboren in Venezuela. Dit huwelijk liep al snel stuk en het stel scheidde op 11 Januari 2002. In 2006 kreeg ze een relatie met Duitse zakenman Daniel Giersch, op 16 oktober dat jaar beviel ze van haar eerste zoon Hermés. In 2008 toen ze zwanger was van haar tweede kind vroeg ze een scheiding aan. Haar dochter Helena werk op 8 juni 2009 geboren, de scheiding was echter pas in juni 2010 helemaal afgerond door een langdurige strijd om de voogdij. In Augustus 2012 bepaalde de rechter dat haar twee kinderen 50% van de tijd bij haar ex-man moeten wonen, hij woont momenteel in Frankijk omdat zijn visum voor de VS geweigerd wordt. Kelly gaat hierin tegen beroep.

(on living a green lifestyle) Basically, everything we’re doing, we do it the most natural and non-toxic way possible. But our house doesn’t look like an eco house. It looks like a nice house. You don’t have to sacrifice style to be green!
If there’s a way that I can have less, it’s great. I’m not against anything, I’m not against fur, or meat, I’m just about what makes sense in your life.
(on high school life) I think high school’s very difficult. You’re figuring out your own power and your effect on other people. You look back and see how you spent so much energy on figuring out things with your parents or your peers.
(on how she met Mr. Right) I would sit down with my dates and say, ‘I’m ready to get married and have kids, so if you’re not ready for that right away, let’s be friends.’ My husband, Daniel, was very much a family person, and being with him wasn’t boring!
